Here’s Why That Might Matter to You.
We just launched our new website. And while that’s exciting for us, it’s probably more useful for you.
Because the reasons we had to rebuild?
They’re the same reasons a lot of small businesses need to.
This post breaks down what wasn’t working, what we changed, and how you can apply it to your own site. Even if you’re not ready for a full redesign, there’s something here that can help.
1. Our Old Site Wasn’t Built for What We Do Now
We’ve evolved. So had our offers. But our old website still spoke to the business we used to be.
That made it harder for people to:
- Know exactly what we do
- Understand how we help
- Take action
Sound familiar?
If your services or priorities have changed but your website hasn’t, you’re probably confusing your visitors. And confused people don’t convert.
2. We Hadn’t Done SEO Yet
The old site looked okay, but it wasn’t doing much to help us show up in search.
There were no real keywords. No city targeting. No blog strategy. And a few pages that weren’t even getting indexed.
That’s common for service-based businesses. You launch a site to get started. Then move on. SEO feels like something you’ll do “later.”
For us, later is now.
We’re:
- Writing content that answers the questions our clients are actually asking
- Updating our titles and descriptions so Google knows what each page is about
- Creating pages that target the services we offer in the areas we serve
If your site isn’t showing up when people Google what you do, it’s probably not the algorithm’s fault. It’s fixable.
3. We Had Too Few Pages
We didn’t list all our services. Or show the full scope of what we offer. A visitor couldn’t land on a page that matched what they needed—because that page didn’t exist yet.
That meant lost leads and missed opportunities.
We’ve fixed that by:
- Breaking our services into separate, searchable pages
- Writing content that speaks to specific client pain points
- Making it easier for visitors to take the next step
If your site only has a few pages and tries to cover everything in broad strokes, it’s likely leaving money on the table.
4. It Didn’t Match the Level of Service We Provide
We build websites. We do SEO. We help small businesses get found online.
But our old site didn’t reflect that clearly enough.
We needed to practice what we preach.
Now our site is:
- More strategic
- Easier to navigate
- Focused on helping people take the next step
And it’ll keep evolving with us.
